With regard to Saturday Live Inheritance Tracks: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/saturdaylive/inheritance_tracks/
Just had a closer look, the BBC blog is not that helpful, you need to know the Radio 4 show to fully understand: the first track is the one you've inherited from your parents, the second is the one you'll pass on to your children. What works so well on the radio show (presented by Fi Glover, who I looked at using as a voice-over way back in Melrose days when she was at GLR) are of course the fabulous anecdotes.

Well arkangel I think we can have a little fun with this. The inheritance track would be easy for me even though I do not connect musically with my parents. But one thing did connect. My dad had a curio in his collection - Porgy and Bess by Miles Davis. Original copy he still owns. I put it on - when I was about 15 - and it changed my listening forever. So the one I have inherited is:

'Bess you is my woman now' by Miles

Now, what to leave. For my daughters. 24 hours to think on this one.

And by the way what an excellent idea for a radio programme. I will be listening.

The whole LP is fabulous. The first track is the stand out but the other three tracks are gems too. I first heard the album on holiday in France in 1994 while I was sipping wine from the vineyard opposite and watching the evening sun. Joy.

so does your relationship with France go way back?
